I once helped a client take an old china cabinet and make it something totally different. We took the two pieces apart and used the top half for a cabinet behind their sofa, adding drapery finials for legs – we used the base of the cabinet as a storage piece for the living room or kitchen. Both pieces got a fresh coat of paint and now the piece has totally different functions.
